UCLA vs. Baylor in Holiday Bowl

Kickoff is 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 27 at Qualcomm Stadium. It’s also on ESPN if you’re not available to make the trip. Johnathan Franklin and Baylor wide receiver Terrance Williams are featured at the top of the official site banner.

It’s certainly no Rose Bowl, but the Holiday Bowl is shaping up for a return to its traditional shootout ways. (The scores of the past three games have been 21-10, 19-7, and 33-0.) Baylor ranks No. 1 in the country in total offense, while the No. 17 Bruins are No. 20.

I got my tickets! 50-yard line! It’s cheaper than the Alamo Bowl. But it’s a lot better than the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.

Hopefully UCLA’s band will show up this time. They did not for last year’s bowl – disappointingly.

I hope the team is ready to fight hard to win this one. I’ve been disappointed with all the losses they have had in recent years.

      The band was at AT&T.

I was there last year when Illinois beat UCLA. I don’t remember the band being there.

The band was there. We sat next to them near the endzone.

Looking forward to this game – one of the most exciting bowl matchups. Can our defense control the Baylor offensive juggernaut, and can our offense run through Baylor’s porous D?

From an economic standpoint the Holiday is a bummer compared to the Alamo (about a $1 million difference), but UCLA v Baylor should have plenty of offense and shold be fun to watch.

    First team to punt loses.
