UCLA’s offense looks about as good as it has all season, and enters halftime with a comfortable 47-26 lead over USC. The Bruins opened the game with seven straight points, and haven’t really allowed eased off yet at the Galen Center.

They’re outshooting the Trojans by a wide margin (58.6 percent to 33.3) but most impressive are their 13 assists on 17 field goals. Point guard Larry Drew II, who vowed to “kill” USC after the upset loss three weeks ago, has eight points and five assists. His highlight so far was tip-toeing the sideline to save a loose ball, swinging it to Jordan Adams before earning a fast-break layup. He’s also done a great job finding freshman big man Tony Parker, who has eight points already on 4-of-6 shooting. Parker’s only double-digit performance this year was a 12-point outing against James Madison in November.

The Bruins are giving up some points inside — 18 in the paint, 10 second-chance — and will need to stay out of foul trouble in the second. Parker, David Wear and Kyle Anderson each have two fouls.
