UCLA is still doing its best to preserve the memory of receiver Nick Pasquale, who was struck by a car and killed last week. When the Bruins face New Mexico State at home this Saturday, fans will be able to buy T-shirts bearing Pasquale’s No. 36.
The shirts were donated by adidas, and proceeds from the sale will go to the Nick Pasquale Foundation. The first 30,000 fans will also receive a free blue towel with Pasquale’s No. 36 on it. Head coach Jim Mora asked that the towel be waved after the moment of silence.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the Bruins will also add No. 36 to the Rose Bowl turf for the season, and present a framed jersey his family at halftime.
UPDATE: The shirts will go on sale in the student store and online after the New Mexico State game. Because adidas will no longer donate shirts, at least 40 percent of proceeds will go to the Nick Pasquale Foundation — rather than the 100 percent from Saturday’s sale.
