UCLA coach Jim Mora has mentioned his receivers’ improved blocking several times this season. Sophomore Jordan Payton said the emphasis began in spring camp. He added that the coaching he’d received at Oaks Christian High in Westlake Village helped ease the transition for him.

“It wasn’t a different thing for me to come here, but it was definitely a change to get screamed at constantly to finish downfield, to really finish your blocks,” Payton said.
