UCLA didn’t need to do much to improve to 5-0 on the season, easily dispatching Cal 37-10 in its Pac-12 home opener.

The Bears didn’t get a first down until over 10 minutes into the first half, and didn’t convert a third down until seven minutes into the third. Head coach Sonny Dykes’ “Bear Raid” offense had racked up yards all season, but had just 19 by the end of the first quarter.

Despite a career night by quarterback Brett Hundley, UCLA hardly looked flawless. Penalties again haunted the Bruins, with defensive end Cassius Marsh committing three on two plays to help set up Cal’s lone touchdown. Marsh was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct late in the first half.

Hundley also missed several open receivers, but finished with three touchdowns and a career-high 410 passing yards.
