In an 81-70 win that looked more difficult than it should have, Kyle Anderson carved out his little piece of UCLA history.

The sophomore point guard dropped a triple-double on Morehead State, the first by a Bruin since Toby Bailey logged his on Dec. 18, 1995. The 6-foot-9 sophomore stuffed the box score with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists — reaching the milestone with a dish to guard Jordan Adams with 3:19 left.

Adams led the game with a career-high 30 points, the most for any UCLA player since Tyler Honeycutt scored 33 in 2010. Both Adams and Anderson were named to the 50-man Naismith Award watch list this week.

Senior Travis Wear had 11 points and four rebounds in his season debut. The 6-foot-10 forward sat out UCLA’s first three games after having an appendectomy on Oct. 28.

The Bruins did have trouble inside against 6-foot-11 center Chad Posthumus. The dolefully named Canadian had a career night with 21 points and 18 rebounds.
