Jim Mora votes USC’s Ed Orgeron as top Pac-12 coach

— Jim Mora said he voted Ed Orgeron for Pac-12 Coach of the Year last night, pointing out the way that he’s injected confidence and enthusiasm back into the USC program.

“He gave them a real spark,” Mora said. “He really did. … Coach O, I think everybody who knows him knows he’s got an infectious personality. You see it in the way his team plays.”

— USC receiver Marqise Lee reminds Mora most of eight-time Pro Bowler Marvin Harrison, praising everything from his elusiveness to route-running.

“You can tell he’s not 100 percent healthy, but that doesn’t mean a lot when it comes to Marqise Lee,” he said. “Last year, I thought he was the best in the country, and I have no reason to say he’s not this year. Maybe his production, his numbers aren’t up, but that’s just because of the amount that he’s played.”

— Mora confirmed that both teams will continue wearing home jerseys for the rivalry.

“It’s a great tradition,” he said. “I think it’s colorful. I think it accentuates the pageantry and tradition of this game.”
