UCLA maintained its perfect record with a 95-79 win over Northwestern Friday night, closing out the Las Vegas Invitational.

Sophomore Kyle Anderson was named tournament MVP and nearly had his second career triple-double. The point guard finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, four steals and a block. He also made both his 3-point attempts, chipping in to the Bruins’ absurd 13-of-16 rate from downtown.

Guards Jordan Adams, Zach LaVine and Bryce Alford tied for the team lead with 18 points, combining to shoot 10-of-12 from beyond the arc. Adams and LaVine were named to the all-tournament team.

The frontcourt still looked shaky as starting big men David Wear and Tony Parker combined for seven points, seven rebounds, and nine fouls. Travis Wear — still working back into game shape following an appendectomy — had four points and two rebounds, while freshman forward Wanaah Bail had three points and two steals.

Steve Alford became the first UCLA head coach to debut with a 7-0 start. Northwestern coach Chris Collins also yelled at Alford after the game, possibly because the Bruins left their starters in late.
