Which opposing coach likes UCLA the most?

According to the USA Today coaches poll, UCLA’s fondest admirer is Mark Helfrich. The Oregon head coach voted the Bruins No. 13 in his final ballot, the highest among 62 participating coaches from the FBS and five spots above the team’s actual placement.

Less impressed by Jim Mora and company were Miami’s Al Golden, Buffalo’s Jeff Quinn and South Carolina’s Steve Spurrier. Each had UCLA at 20th, below teams such as Duke, Georgia and Wisconsin.

Among teams outside the top-ten, though, the Bruins were not subject to an undue amount of variance. No. 23 Northern Illinois was voted as high as No. 13 (by its own Rod Carey), yet was left off of 18 ballots.

Correction: This post originally listed Utah’s Kyle Whittingham instead of Oregon’s Mark Helfrich. Whittingham voted UCLA No. 14.
