Anthony Barr lands fourth major All-American honor

Anthony Barr’s All-American run keeps rolling on, as the UCLA linebacker picked up a spot on the American Football Coaches Association squad this morning. It was the senior’s fourth placement on an NCAA-recognized team, with the prior three being the Walter Camp, Sporting News and Associated Press.

If Barr also lands on the Football Writers Association of America’s first team later today, he will be the 11th player in UCLA history to earn unanimous All-American honors, and the first since Maurice Jones-Drew in 2005.

UPDATE: Barr was a FWAA second-team All-American, leaving him as a consensus selection overall. There were 10 unanimous All-Americans this season, with the only linebacker being Alabama’s C.J. Mosley.
