UCLA’s recruiting class history

With National Signing Day winding down, the team recruiting rankings have settled into place — barring any stunning change of hearts.

As of Wednesday night, UCLA is No. 18 on Rivals.com and No. 20 on Scout.com. USC is 10th on both.

Here’s where past classes for both schools ranked:

2013: Scout 3, Rivals 8 (USC 9/18)
2012: Scout 12, Rivals 13 (USC 20/8)
2011: Scout 55, Rivals 45 (USC 4/4)
2010: Scout 8, Rivals 8 (USC 5/1)
2009: Scout 5, Rivals 14 (USC 9/4)
2008: Scout 10, Rivals 13 (USC 9/8)
2007: Scout 36, Rivals 40 (USC 2/2)
2006: Scout 20, Rivals 17 (USC 1/1)
2005: Scout 24, Rivals 26 (USC 6/1)
2004: Scout 24, Rivals 43 (USC 1/1)
2003: Scout 35, Rivals 36 (USC 1/3)
2002: Scout 7, Rivals 9 (USC 12/13)

And no, recruiting rankings aren’t perfect. Nevertheless, they still provide a good indication of talent, at least in lieu of a better alternative.
