Five-star quarterback Josh Rosen committed to UCLA early this afternoon, solidifying the Bruins for life after Brett Hundley.
Hundley — who will go pro after his upcoming redshirt junior season — was touted as “The Savior” and guided the program toward the national title conversation, but even he wasn’t as highly rated as Rosen coming out of high school. The Bellflower St. John Bosco standout is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 1 quarterback in 2015, as well as the second-best prospect overall.
There was little drama to the ceremony. Widely regarded as a lock for UCLA even after a visit to Michigan, he laid out three hats on the table — all of them Bruin hats.
If he enrolls early, he could enter the spring of 2015 in a quarterback competition with Asiantii Woulard, a talented four-star recruit who redshirted behind Hundley this past season.
