Five-star quarterback Josh Rosen commits to UCLA

Five-star quarterback Josh Rosen committed to UCLA early this afternoon, solidifying the Bruins for life after Brett Hundley.

Hundley — who will go pro after his upcoming redshirt junior season — was touted as “The Savior” and guided the program toward the national title conversation, but even he wasn’t as highly rated as Rosen coming out of high school. The Bellflower St. John Bosco standout is rated by as the No. 1 quarterback in 2015, as well as the second-best prospect overall.

There was little drama to the ceremony. Widely regarded as a lock for UCLA even after a visit to Michigan, he laid out three hats on the table — all of them Bruin hats.

If he enrolls early, he could enter the spring of 2015 in a quarterback competition with Asiantii Woulard, a talented four-star recruit who redshirted behind Hundley this past season.

Mark still thinks there are 10 teams in the Conference–his opinion is worthless.

The Reverend Barkley is still trying to save souls.

    • Matt seems like a decent kid.

Too bad he couldn’t pass The Barr.

  • Bruin 34

Not sure he will unseat Woulard. But he’s gonna be nice after Woulard leaves for the NFL.

I LOVE Hundley AND UCLA…just trying to keep it accurate and factual. Go Bruins!!

      • Bruin 34

No. He was rated a 5* by recruiting sites.

        • D-Lux

Google “rivals Brett Hundley”, it’s still up from his HS days, he was a 4 star.

Great news. Last time we got a top-10 5* QB was Hundley. And he turned out to be the real deal. Next year sky is the limit. Welcome to the Bruin fam Josh Rosen. Look forward to seeing you play in the Rose Bowl! GO BRUINS #8clap

This is Good News, Thank You Mr. Rosen for choosing my BRUINS.

    • Let’s see if he feels the same way next season. I’m going to guess he gets a scholarship offer from Stanford and goes there instead.

      • Dan Wayne

I hope not, But we will see.

        GO BRUINS.

      • cheatON!

why would stanford make him an offer if they have their qb of the future in keller chryst?

  • mbruin

    Welcome to the UCLA family.
