Report: Kylie Fitts could transfer to Fresno State after leaving UCLA

After abruptly deciding to transfer out of UCLA on Monday, defensive end Kylie Fitts could be headed north.

According to the Fresno Bee, Fresno State received a release that will allow them to contact Fitts. The former four-star recruit could also end up at San Diego State or Montana State.

A star at Redlands East Valley, Fitts was one of the state’s top recruits in 2013 and considered a coup for the Bruins after he decommitted from USC. However, he played sparingly as a freshman, making one tackle in six games before undergoing hand surgery in November.

As soon as he said it’s not for playing time issues, it’s clear it’s for playing time issues. If it was for education, why would he leave UCLA for Fresno State?

Because if education were the issue, it would mean he’s having a hard time academically at UCLA, not because he wants to get a better education somewhere else. That would be a preposterous notion; nobody leaves UCLA because it’s too easy. So he very well could have educational or other personal reasons (like maybe the social scene isn’t for him, or he wants to be closer to his family in NorCal). Wherever he goes, I wish him luck.

His family is from Redlands, not closer to Fresno. He is supposed to be a good student. Sad to see a kid walk away from a UCLA education.

The quarter system at UC schools can be brutal, even for good students……It’ll be interesting to see where he lands…..but Montana State?….

I think he is a bit confused. SC was his dream school and that fell apart. Seemed happy at UCLA. His sister is at UCLA. I hope it all works out for him, but he is off to a rough start.

If he’s going to have to hit up a Cal State school, may as well come down to SDSU. Hope all works out for him. Go Bruins!

I heard he’s probably gonna take the juco route. B/C mora won’t release him to any Pac12 Schools.. Very interesting… If he finishes his AA he can go to any school with out probation. I wonder what really happened?
