Scouting report: Oregon State true freshman Seth Collins has rushed for 536 yards and five touchdowns this season — the second-highest total among Pac-12 quarterbacks after Arizona’s Jerrard Randall. Collins did not travel to the Beavers’ loss at Utah on Saturday due to a knee injury, and is limited in practice this week. … Collins had accounted for 1,299 of his team’s 1,996 offensive yards through the first six games of the season, but was easily the conference’s worst passer (51.9 percent). Oregon State had started playing Nick Mitchell even before Collins’ injury. … The Beavers are last in the Pac-12 with 10 sacks this season. Across the FBS, only nine have brought opposing quarterbacks down fewer times. They are also allowing a league-high 66.4 percent completion rate to opposing quarterbacks, and allowed Utah’s Travis Wilson to average 11.6 yards per attempts — his career high in conference play. … Receiver Victor Bolden assumed kickoff return duties three weeks ago and has totaled 302 yards and a touchdown. His 30.2-yard average is good for third in the conference and ninth in the country.

Series history: UCLA leads the all-time series, 40-16-4, but the two teams have not played since 2012. Oregon State was responsible for the first loss of the Jim Mora era, a 27-20 decision at the Rose Bowl in which Sean Mannion threw for 379 yards and two touchdowns.

Key players:

QB Nick Mitchell, RFr., 6-3, 198 — 28/59, 326 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
— With Seth Collins sidelined, Mitchell is in line for his third career start. He is the younger brother of second-year starting center Josh Mitchell.

RB Storm Barrs-Woods, RSr., 6-0, 207 — 75 carries, 373 yards, 1 TD
– Limited by a knee injury in recent weeks, the program’s fifth-leading all-time rusher has only rushed for 146 yards in his last five games.

WR Jordan Villamin, RSo., 6-5, 231 — 29 catches, 474 yards, 4 TD
– His 16.4 yards per catch ranks fifth in the Pac-12, and his size is a huge mismatch for most defensive backs.

LB Rommel Mageo, RJr., 6-2, 233 — 61 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 INT, 2 forced fumbles
— The most consistent part of a defense that has been slow to grasp coordinator Kalani Sitake’s schemes.

S Cyril Noland-Lewis, RJr., 6-1, 206 — 34 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 INT
– The former outside linebacker has also worked at cornerback and nickelback in the wake of injuries in the secondary.

Line: UCLA opened as an 15.5-point favorite. The line is up to 17.5.
