Week two is in the books and the defense is having a good showing so far. There seems to be good depth developing on the defensive line and the freshmen linebackers have earned some praise from head coach Jim Mora.

The offense has a ways to go and that will be a thing to keep an eye out on during the final two weeks of camp. It’s not going to be flawless by the end of spring, but some incremental improvement is necessary. The offensive line needs to develop some better chemistry and, of course, cut down on the false starts.

Here’s all the coverage from the second week of practice in case you missed any of it. The Bruins start the third week on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

The receivers all called Adams “the holding King.” It seems that the PAC12 refs noticed that as well.

Is Mora going to let him do what he does best and let him return kickoffs and punts?

      • 88 Straight

He hasn’t done much returning after he fielded a punt inside the 5 and then fumbled it against WSU. We will see. Adams is a high risk, high reward player.

He’ was the MVP of the 2013 game against us, putting Hundley’s shaky offense in great feild position time after time with his kickoff and punt returns. Mora is nuts to leave him in the dog house. You haven’t had a good return man since Maurice Jones-Drew until Adams.

Teams started kicking the ball away from him in 2014. The 2014 Adams was much better than the 2015 version. Maybe the Uber incident threw him off his game. He could be dynamic on offense.

Maybe, if we’re lucky, Mora will adopt the same approach with AJ in Nov. 2016.

Maybe we will have a real punter this year.

We got spoiled after watching Jeff Locke for a couple of years. That guy was an artist.

            Why, what happened with AJ?

Same old story as the last few springs: O-line struggling, defense looking better than the offense. Better get their act together before the season opener in College Station.

I don’t ever recall the offense being ahead of the defense in spring practice.
