- Not directly UCLA-related, but in a story from USA TODAY Sports, a Tulane professor proposed a possible solution to the issue of college athletes and endorsement deals. Gabe Feldman, director of the Tulane Sports Law Program, presented a paper to the to the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics on Tuesday contending that endorsement deals and education don’t have to be mutually exclusive. He offered some suggestions for how to make paying college athletes work, like allowing athletes to have product endorsement and receive pay for personal appearances and autographs, but only if they are in good academic standing.
