Apparel deals, the NCAA and Josh Rosen

Amid the hubbub about UCLA’s giant apparel deal, UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen again made some news on social media. He posted the attached picture on Instagram mocking the NCAA’s world of amateur sports where money flows freely to everyone but the people playing.

Rosen later deleted the photo from his account, but Jeff Miller with our friends at the OC Register, published a column about the situation, specifically about the issue of paying athletes.

An excerpt:

Whether or not you agree with Rosen’s forum or his timing, I, personally, continue to have a hard time not concurring with his sentiment.

Another big-money victory for college sports marked another bankrupt-inducing defeat for the archaic ideal of the athletes playing college sports.
