UCLA head coach Jim Mora was reprimanded by the Pac-12 for public comments concerning officiating during UCLA’s game against Arizona last Saturday, the conference announced Tuesday.
Mora made comments on UCLA’s postgame radio show questioning the game’s officiating, including one play that earned him an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. In the first quarter, an Arizona offensive lineman drew a flag for ineligible receiver downfield, but the flag was picked up as it was determined that Arizona quarterback Brandon Dawkins was out of the pocket and was throwing the ball away legally. The NCAA confirmed that the ruling was correct on this play, according to a statement from the Pac-12. Mora was seen arguing on the sideline with an official after the play and drew a 15-yard penalty.
