UCLA has three Serra graduates on its roster to USC’s nine. The recruiting pipeline from the prep football power in Gardena has flowed to the Coliseum for years, but the man behind it is a die-hard Bruin.
The UCLA-USC rivalry is always close-quartered, but it gets even more restricted when you look at Serra’s 566-person school where head coach Scott Altenberg, the son of former UCLA receiver Kurt Altenberg and a former UCLA walk-on, produces football stars that end up burning his beloved team.
