UCLA weekend recap: Aaron Wallace notches first NFL sack

Former UCLA linebacker Aaron Wallace recorded his first NFL sack this past weekend for the Tennessee Titans, pulling down Denver quarterback Trevor Siemian in the fourth quarter on first-and-goal while the Broncos were driving for the go-ahead touchdown. The Titans held on to win 13-10.

Wallace was drafted in the seventh round by the Titans in his year’s NFL draft, one of eight Bruins who heard their names called on draft day.

In other news around UCLA athletics:

  • Women’s volleyball lost in the NCAA regional final on Saturday, ending its season with a three-set sweep against Minnesota. The No. 10 Bruins knocked off No. 7 North Carolina in the Sweet 16 on Friday.
  • Men’s and women’s basketball completed a weekend home sweep of Michigan as the men’s team won 102-84 on Saturday at Pauley Pavilion and the women won 84-64 on Sunday. The Bruin basketball teams are a combined 17-1 with the only loss between them coming against the No. 3 Baylor women’s basketball team.
  • Gymnastics is ranked fourth in the NCAA preseason poll. The Bruins, who won the Pac-12 last year and finished fifth at the NCAA Championships, open their season at home against Arkansas on Jan. 7 at 4 p.m.
