After three weeks of practice, it’s the time to stop thinking and start playing. Rapid installation of a new offense left heads spinning, but the coaching staff took a step back this past week to help the offense take vital steps forward.
“I can see them playing a little bit faster,” offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch said Saturday. “That’s usually the indicator of knowing it a little bit better: less thinking, more doing.”
The defense is finding its new stars. Adarius Pickett was tabbed as the secondary’s new Fabian Moreau by defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin. Jaelan Phillips and Darnay Holmes continue to live up to their five-star billing as the pair of freshmen already started to rotate into the No. 1 defense.
