Four-star defensive end Abdul-Malik McClain commits to UCLA

UCLA’s recruiting train picked up another future Bruin on Monday as JSerra weakside defensive end Abdul-Malik McClain pledged his verbal commitment.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound McClain is UCLA’s 21st commit for the class of 2018 and the fourth in two days after the team hosted several recruits Sunday at the new Wasserman Football Center.

McClain is Scout.com’s No. 2 weakside defensive end and the fourth-best prospect at his position in the West. He also had offers from Louisville, Georgia Tech, Washington, Arizona State, Notre Dame, Oregon State and Utah. He has a three-star ranking from Rivals.com and ESPN.

He is UCLA’s fourth defensive line commit for this class and first defensive end. The Bruins also have commitments from defensive tackles Niti Liu and Aaron Maldonado.
