Women’s golf heading to NCAA finals

The UCLA women’s golf team finished third in its NCAA regional on Saturday, securing a 16th straight NCAA championships berth. The Bruins were led by Bronte Law, who tied for first place with Georgia’s Bailey Tardy at 7-under 209.

UCLA (1-under 865) finished behind regional champion Georgia (6-under 858) and Arizona (even 864). Furman, Miami and Texas rounded out the top-six field that will advance to the NCAA championship.

Law’s title is her third individual victory of the season and sixth of her career, which is tied for Kay Cockerill for the most in school history. Law and Tardy’s score of 209 tied the course record at Traditions Golf Club for 54 holes.

The NCAA championships take place May 20-25 in Eugene, Ore., at Eugene Country Club.
