UCLA loses three more commits

UCLA’s coaching change continues to reset the school’s current recruiting class as four-star safety Cam’ron Jones, three-star linebacker Kolin Demens and three-star running back Lentivone Lesane all announced they have decommitted from UCLA on Monday.

Jones, viewed as a key part of UCLA’s 2018 recruiting class because he was an out-of-state catch for defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin, recently hosted Mississippi coaches at his family’s home in Mansfield, Texas. UCLA secures commitment from four-star safety Cam’ron Jones

Four-star safety Cam’ron Jones announced his commitment to UCLA on Friday via Twitter, becoming the program’s fifth verbal commit for the class of 2018.

Jones, a 6-foot, 185-pound prospect from Mansfield High, is the No. 8 safety in Texas, according to Scout.com. He also had offers from schools including Baylor, Colorado, Minnesota and Oklahoma.

The Bruins didn’t sign any safeties in its 2017 class, but Jones is UCLA’s second for the 2018 group, joining Jhevon Hill. UCLA also has verbal commits from offensive lineman Blake McDonald, athlete Isaiah Johnson and defensive lineman Aaron Maldonado.
