Three-star defensive back Chris Wilson announced his decommitment from UCLA on Friday via Twitter, writing he is opening his recruitment “to seek better options” after receiving “increased interest.” The prospect from Hitchcock, Texas committed to UCLA on Aug. 2 as the first of five commits from during the month of August.

Three-star safety Chris Wilson announced a commitment to UCLA via Twitter on Tuesday.

The Hitchcock, Texas native is the fourth commit in UCLA’s 2017 recruiting class. UCLA has already lost two three-star defensive back commits in Jeffrey Manning Jr. and Rhedi Short, who both withdrew their pledges to UCLA this summer.

Wilson was also interested in Iowa State and Texas A&M.
