Three-star DB Dayven Coleman commits to UCLA

Dayven Coleman became UCLA’s third verbal commit in two days as the three-star safety from Texas announced his college choice on Twitter on Thursday.

He earned an offer from UCLA just last month and chose the Bruins over Pac-12 offers from Utah, Arizona and Colorado.

At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, Coleman is a versatile defensive back who fits Demetrice Martin‘s preference for players who can swing between safety and corner.

Coleman is from West Mesquite High in Texas, the alma mater of current UCLA wide receiver Eldridge Massington. After the Bruins picked up two running backs for the class of 2018 Wednesday, Coleman is UCLA’s 15th commit this year and the third defensive back.
