Three-star DB Jaylan Shaw commits to UCLA

Defensive back Jaylan Shaw announced his commitment to UCLA on Wednesday via Twitter. The three-star recruit from Corona Centennial is the second DB to commit to the Bruins in as many days as Chris Wilson pledged to UCLA on Tuesday.

Shaw, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound rising senior, told Scout he made it official when he went to campus. He was also considering USC, Washington State and Boise State, but he was never able to visit WSU or Boise State.

“I’m very excited to be a Bruin and have this process over before my season,” Shaw told Scout. “That was always my plan, to make a summer commitment so I can focus on school and football. I didn’t want to rush anything after I got the offers, I took the last month to think things over and I feel really good about my decision.

Defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin seemed pretty fired up about the commitment
