UCLA loses three more commits

UCLA’s coaching change continues to reset the school’s current recruiting class as four-star safety Cam’ron Jones, three-star linebacker Kolin Demens and three-star running back Lentivone Lesane all announced they have decommitted from UCLA on Monday.

Jones, viewed as a key part of UCLA’s 2018 recruiting class because he was an out-of-state catch for defensive backs coach Demetrice Martin, recently hosted Mississippi coaches at his family’s home in Mansfield, Texas. He has been committed to the Bruins since April, but also has offers from Oklahoma, Colorado, Baylor and Texas Tech.

UCLA grabs commitment from Florida running back

UCLA grabbed two offensive linemen and a quarterback from Florida for its 2017 recruiting class and now have a running back from the Sunshine State on the way. Lentivone Lesane, a two-sport athlete at Florida’s Mater Academy, announced his commitment to UCLA on Twitter on Wednesday.

Lesane is a lightly recruited three-star prospect, according to Scout.com, and a two-star according to Rivals. Utah gave him his only other Pac-12 offer, while Central Florida, Syracuse, Illinois and Cincinnati also came calling. Aside from football, Lesane also is a sprinter on the track team; his 100-meter personal record is 11.34 seconds.

UCLA lost a commitment from three-star running back AJ Carter on June 26 (UPDATED JULY 1, 4:25 p.m. — Carter is back) when he flipped to his home-state school LSU. Lesane is UCLA’s 13th verbal commit for 2018 and only running back.
