Gas leak in Upland
A gas leak caused the temporary evacuation of several stores in Upland Wednesday afternoon.
The leak occurred in the area of Foothill Boulevard and Mulberry Avenue at 3:36 p.m. after a woman ran into gas pipe while waiting in the Starbucks drive-through, Upland police said.
Upland police and fire responded to the area and evacuated the Starbucks along with three other area stores as a precaution.
There was also a child in the car that crashed into the pipe, police said. The driver may have passed out because of a medical problem, police said. No one was injured.
