Helping Out Pets Everyday is an Upland based non-profit organization that rescues animals. Some of the cats, currently living at PetSmart, are looking for a loving home this Christmas and wrote letters to Santa asking to be adopted.

Dear Santa,

My name is Riley.  I've been hanging out at PetSmart for quite awhile now.  I'm kind of scared.

In June, the local shelter was very overcrowded.  They were out of available kennels and there were a lot of cats homeless just like me.

I never thought I'd be homeless, but you know with the economy and all, I guess my family just didn't know what to do with me, so they just packed up and left.  I searched for them for days on end, but they just never came back. HOPE saved my life!

I wanted to write and ask you if you could find me a REAL home.  A home where my family wouldn't just leave me.  I don't think I did anything wrong.  I loved them and all, but I guess they didn't love me as much as I loved them.

Maybe you can help by finding me the purrfect family this Christmas.

Love,
Riley
