Pets may be more spoiled this holiday than kids
The slow economy may be influencing people to cut back on extra spending this holiday season, but their pets won't notice a difference.
The American Pet Products Association speculated that over half of dog and cat owners will be buying holiday gifts for their pets.
"So far I don't think the people are allowing their pets to suffer," said Sherri Cartwright, employee at Welcome Wagg'n Home of Upland Feed Since 1896 in Upland. "A lot of (customers) don't have family members other than their pets and that's what we cater to - people who really love their pets."
