Walter Reardon retires from City Treasurer position
Walter Reardon has retired from his position as city treasurer - a job he has done for the last 28 years.
Mayor John Pomierski and the Upland City Council was honored for his years of dedication during Monday's city council meeting.
"He's seen it all, he's seen the good times, the really bad times and now the good times again and hope to keep him there," Pomierski said.
"One thing I do want to say is the job of the city treasurer is very easy when you have a financial department we have," Reardon said during his speech to the council and audience.
"It's a great honor to be the city treasurer and I didn't have to be here Monday nights and miss any football games," he said, jokingly.
Reardon's position will be filled by Dan Morgan, who was elected during the recent election on November 4.
