Upland students win L.A. County fair awards
Several Upland High School and Baldy View ROP students received the title of "Best Of The Show" in the Los Angeles County Fair's America's Kids in the Classroom Competition.
In the "computer aided mechanical design with prototype" category, Michael Tabor, a senior at Upland High School, won First Place, Best of Class and Best of Show for his paintball gun assembly.
William Stickney, a senior at Upland High School, won first place for his aircraft cockpit control panel.
Shane Costa, a senior at Upland High School, won third place for his remote control rock crawler chassis.
In the "Architectural Hand Drawings" category, Nathan Burgett, a senior at Bonita High School, took home the first place prize for his "residence" design.
Taylor Sealy and Derek Plant, juniors at Upland High School and Dustin Crawford, a senior at Claremont High School received honorable mentions.
In the "Architectural Models With Plans" category, "Leaping Lemurs," an Upland High School team including Burgett and Crawford won first place for their "residence" design.
