Applications for Upland Heritage 2009 grant program available until Nov. 15

| |
Upland Heritage has announced that it will be awarding $5,000 in restoration grants.

The grants are awarded on a matching funds basis, which will equate to more than $150,000 being invested back into Upland's historical structures since the program started 14 years ago.

Grants, up to a maximum of $1,000 each, will be awarded for up to 50 percent of the restoration or repair cost on a selected project.

All grants will be awarded on a reimbursement basis upon project completion and submission of receipts documenting the restoration work.

It is desirable that all work be completed within six months of the award, but due to weather and availability of craftsman and materials, extensions are often necessary.

Applications are available to anyone who has a project to improve a structure listed in the Upland Historical Survey, or was built prior to 1940 in Upland.

Applications are available until November 15. They must be completed and sent to Upland Heritage P.O. Box 1828 Upland, CA 91785.

A panel will look over applications and respond by Dec. 15.

Applications and more information is available at http://www.uplandheritagecommunityoutreach.org/index.html
