Three Upland Pop Warner students competing for scholarship

Three students involved in the Upland Pop Warner Football and Competitive Cheer "Little Scholars" program, will be competing for the "Pop Warner Lil Scholar" scholarship.


Out of six contenders, eighth-graders, Matthew Castro, Mitchel Davis and Matthew Zahn were chosen to compete.

Each student wrote an essay on "making the right choices" along with examples of their experience.

Each student maintained a 4.0 grade point average, served the community through various activities and demonstrated a list of leadership roles outside and inside school.

The Little Scholars program is active in 42 states and six countries. Pop warner requires their players to perform well in school in order to participate. The winning scholar will receive an academic scholarship.
