Mayor leaves Musser off of committees, again

| |

Mayoral appointments for 2010 were approved by the City Council Jan. 11. Councilmember Ray Musser, who was the only Councilmember not appointed to a committee, voted against the appointments.

Musser was left off of all committees after the Nov. 2004 election and the Nov. 2008 election, when Musser ran for Mayor against Pomierski.

Musser addressed Mayor John Pomierski's appointments during the meeting.

"I want it noted that once again you've chosen to punish the 45 percent of the citizens who did not vote for you by excluding me from all the various committees," Musser said during the meeting.

"I would hope my fellow councilmen would see that need for all our citizens to be represented by five individuals on the council, not just those who agree with the mayor and his supporters. Should you have an independent decision apart from the Mayor, will he use his power to attempt to silence you in the future?"

Pomierski and the rest of the council did not respond to Musser comments during the meeting.
