Winners of Toastmasters Club contest announced

DSCN0593.JPGThe winners of the Toastmasters Club 2330 Success For Speakers contest on Jan. 8 have been announced.

Bill Cortus was voted as Best Speaker of the meeting, Mary Anne Cortus was chosen as Best Evaluator, and Justin Cortus, an honorary member of the club, was selected as co-winner of the Table Topics Contest. Guest Kirk Stenger was the other co-winner of the Table Topics Contest. Guest June Gomez received a round of applause for using the Word of the Day during her closing comments.

The club meets at 6:45 p.m. on the second and fourth Friday of every month in the private banquet room at the International House of Pancakes, 80 N. Euclid. Ave. in Upland.

The public is encouraged to attend. Toastmasters members gain experience in public speaking, leadership and management skills, in addition to conducting a meeting that follows a timed agenda.

Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization with over 3900 clubs throughout the world.  Membership includes a monthly magazine with articles on leadership, speaking, proper use of a microphone, and much more. It also includes guidance on becoming a professional speaker.
