Why you are running for this office: I am running for Upland City Council because I believe it's essential to earn back the public's confidence in our city government. We need stronger, more responsive leadership, increased transparency and open meetings, and the constant pursuit of excellence in municipal services. Upland taxpayers deserve to know where their money is being spent and how they're being protected. I will demand balanced city budgets and pension reforms to reduce costs, ensure public safety is the city's top budget priority, complete the redevelopment of Downtown Upland, promote economic development to create new jobs, and maintain the city's parks, streets and facilities.
Public agency decisions should be based on what best serves the public’s interest. This includes elected officials and employees of the city. What has taken place in Upland over the past few years is a disgrace. I believe Martin will be most effective in bringing stability and leadership to the Upland City Council. Flippi wants a new gang in there, one where he can actually be someone. You see people like this are basically egotistical. Narcissistic, arrogant, and self centered. There are no rules for them. They consider themselves above everyone so much that they actually believe they are above everyone. These types of people are like godless sociopaths and have no regard for anyone except themselves and their own agendas.
