Here’s the official description of the UCLA game award, which is named after a Trojan legend.

THE MARV GOUX AWARD

Awarded annually to the varsity football team member chosen by the team
as having contributed the most during the USC-UCLA game of that season.
The trophy is an actual sized gold football donated annually by Rolland
Curtis.
This award for the UCLA game was first given out in 1952. From 1978 to 1992 it was given to an offensive and defensive player.
