Point Fermin Park in San Pedro might be familiar to any fans of the movie “Chinatown, where Jack Nicholsons character goes up on the cliffs to watch water being secretly dumped by the City of Los Angeles.
John Papadakis, the owner of Papadakis Taverna in San Pedro, said the park is one of the windiest points in Southern California and is a popular spot for hang gliders.
“Its a Bermuda Triangle type of a place. Many people have gone over those cliffs, he said. “There have been murder cases, based on people going over a cliff there. Things happen there. Its where nature meets man.
