I’ve sensed a huge amount of interest this week in the Norm Chow-Pete Carroll falling out judging from my email, so I wanted to add a footnote to the sequence of events.
This was probably the most difficult story I’ve written at USC because of the subject matter and who it involved, and the fact no one really wanted to talk about it in the open.
But once the story came out, both sides read it, and neither disputed anything. In fact, about a year ago, a former USC football player told me that Chow said it was the only story that accurately portrayed what took place before his departure. I only add this to emphasize Carroll and Chow’s reaction to the story.
