Quick Thought
How come no one is asking whether USC can bring back Lane Kiffin with his Raiders future in doubt?

It’s been a busy week, so time to take some more questions. One per person please.
Quarterback Question
Caesar’s Circle
Ed Donatell is expected to become the defensive coordinator at Washington, which is significant for USC because Donatell is one of Pete Carroll’s closest friends in coaching and part of the inner circle that also includes Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin.
Donatell was the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons and worked for the New York Jets last season. We hear he’s become a big fan of the 3-4 defense recently, even though he and Caesar are primarily 4-3 guys.

Mission Accomplished
There are reports Al Davis wants Lane Kiffin to resign. This follows Kiffin being overruled by Davis when firing defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. We previously mentioned Nick Holt’s name was mentioned for that job.
But don’t gloat about Kiffin getting fired, if it happens. He got what he wanted. He was an NFL head coach and now gets to put that on his resume. And he made a few million dollars.
All in all, he came out ahead.
