The USC bookstore offers a display near its entrance selling copies of, “”The Inner Game of Tennis” by W. Timothy Gallwey. The book was originally printed in 1974 so why is it being hawked so aggressively?
Because Pete Carroll just wrote the foreword for a current printing, where he talks about the 2005 Orange Bowl game against Oklahoma and the importance of the mental edge in such a huge game.
So where was that “inner game” mental edge in the 2006 Rose Bowl against Texas?
