Simmons arrested

USC recruit Maurice Simmons was arrested Wednesday for robbery in Compton, after he allegedly pointed a handgun at a man and demanded his belongings.
Simmons, a linebacker from Dominguez High School in Compton, was held on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
“Someone was robbed on the street and we were flagged down by the victim. We then confiscated a handgun and the victim’s belongings (from Simmons),” said Steve Whitmore, a Los Angeles Sheriff Dept. spokesperson.
A USC spokesperson said they are aware of the arrest.
