So the Pac-10 ends up with one team in the Elite Eight. That’s the same as the Southern Conference (Davidson). And it’s one less than the Big 12. Now who’s the best conference?
Last year, the Pac-10 had two teams in the Elite Eight.
Quarterback Jake Heaps of Sammamish, Wash., visited practice Friday. He will be a junior next season and visited the football offices after practice. Heaps completed 19 of 30 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns to lead Skyline High to the 3A championship last December.
Not the best day for the quarterbacks, who were battling accuracy problems. Pete Carroll attributed it to the first day in half-pads, which caused a little more aggressive pash rush.
“It was not my best day,” freshman quarterback Aaron Corp said. “Just inconsistency.”
From the Dodgers’ website, an article says tomorrow’s game at the Coliseum, “may also break the record for American team sports, believed to be 112,912 in Chicago’s Soldier Field for the Nov. 16, 1929 football clash between Notre Dame and USC.”
The 1927 USC-Notre Dame, also played at Soldier Field, drew a crowd listed at 120,000.
The Dodgers announced parking for tomorrow’s game will be available at USC starting at 8 a.m. for $25.
Twenty five bucks! Ouch. You better not need to show up tomorrow to go to the library or swimming pool.
The spin after two days is remarkably similar to what we repeatedly said since January. The coaches feel Sanchez is the safe, reliable choice and have yet to signal they would deviate from making experience the determining factor.
