Mark Sanchez on what he needs to work on in spring practice.
“More than anything, my demeanor. With a good or bad play, it has to stay the same. I’m trying to stay the same. I’m trying to stay real level-headed, while keeping my high-strung attitude and excitement alive.”

Cougars interest
We hear Washington State is interested in former USC cornerback Vincent Joseph.
Worth questioning, Part II
Earlier today, we asked this question: “How significant was it that Steve Sarkisian said after the first practice that Mark Sanchez’s arm was strong enough for hash-to-hash throws while Mitch Mustain was feeling his way through those passes?”
Well, after practice, we asked Sarkisian about it.
“The key for Mitch is, when the hesitation occurs, (he needs to) learn from it,” Sarkisian said. “The difference occurs from being in the system longer. Mark has areas he needs to improve too.”
Galippo’s back
Linebacker Chris Galippo, who underwent back surgery last fall and redshirted, is backing up Rey Maualuga right now and said he is not in pain.
“The trainers pulled me out of the last 10-15 plays but there’s really nothing I can’t do,” he said.
Galippo said he isn’t afraid to tackle anyone because he might re-injure his back.
“I thought there would be but I’m pretty surprised,” he said. “It’s not like I’ve turned down hits yet.”
Mustain update
Mitch Mustain said he noticed a difference between Tuesday and Thursday’s practices.
“I felt a lot faster and quicker and more natural,” Mustain said Thursday. “Today I was able to see everything, with the exception of one or two plays.
Interception count
In the first two days, Mark Sanchez was intercepted by walk-on Matthew Jordan while Mitch Mustain was intercepted by walk-on Justin Hart. At least Aaron Corp’s interception came from scholarship linebacker Malcolm Smith.

Three-spot player
Another player worth watching this spring is linebacker Luthur Brown, because he is being considered at all three linebacker positions, sort of like the role Thomas Williams filled the past few years.
Early surprise
One player who stood out Tuesday that gets little attention is offensive lineman Alex Parsons, who plays guard and center.
