Time to answer a question about a recruiting issue.

Q: With the current legal sitautions addressing Maurice Simmons, do you think that he will end up a Trojan one day?

A: Right now, it’s really too hard to say. His jury trial is scheduled for July 24. If he were not guilty, he probably could enroll for the fall semester. But I’m not sure yet if student conduct would be involved. Technically, he is not a USC student. But no one has ruled out that student conduct could see fit to be involved. No one really knows what will happen, however, untilt he legal matters are resolved. He could wait a year to enroll, but then the question would be whether USC would take a player if he were found guilty of a crime.
