Above The Crowd

If you examine USC’s depth chart, you will note that every position that lists shared spots, such as Aaron Corp “or” Mitch Mustain, goes in alphabetical order. Nose tackle is in alphabetical order (Averell Spicer over Christian Tupou), split end (Patrick Turner over Damian Williams), defensive end (Everson Griffen over Clay Matthews), etc.
But look at running back. Joe McKnight is first despite the fact C.J. Gable and more importantly, Stafon Johnson, are ahead of him alphabetically. Technically, so is Allen Bradford.
Now you know why I frequently mention that McKnight enjoys special status, especially as long as he still holds his transfer year.
