Answer Monday, Part II

Pete Carroll on the linebackers against Oregon State: “They had a rough time.”

Q: Deadspin did a dissertation on the recent Sarah Carmona Song Girl scandal and concluded “cheerleaders really are just a bunch of brazen exhibitionists.” Agree or disagree?

A: I always thought they were really shy, wallflowers who hated attention.

Q: If you were to attend the upcoming tryouts for the USC Song Girls, would the people in charge of the squad get DPS to remove you from the scene?

A: I suspect as we get closer to the tryouts (Oct. 12), I’ll hear something about how the public and/or media are not welcome at the Lyon Center. This would lead to transparency, after all.
Q: Isn’t the revolving door QB situation a joke?

A: I don’t think it’s helped morale, which doesn’t really matter for the backups, but it just seems kind of like a gimmick so far. I really don’t buy that the backups are that bad, or so far behind running the complicated offense, when Aaron Corp completed about 67 percent of his passes in the scrimmages.

Q: Do you think BYU has the best defense in the country?

A: I thought USC has the best defense in the country? Or did before Thursday. Or maybe USC had the best LBs and safeties. I can’t remember. It’s all so confusing now. BYU gave up 27 points to Washington. Utah actually might have a better defense. Nationally, South Florida looks pretty good right now but it’s early.

Q: The USC Bookstore is quick to capitalize and profit on any fads, so have you heard anything about the bookstore coming out with a line of specialized USC Song Girl Beer Bongs? Will there be a Matt Leinart Limited Edition Bong or will the use of his name and likeness constitute an NCAA violation?

A: The beer bongs are available and located on the second floor next to the Beat Oregon State buttons. By the way, I hear the bookstore refused to produce an authentic Mark Sanchez game jersey because it did not sell enough No. 10 authentic jerseys last year.
But it does sell plenty of black USC jerseys, of course.
