Here’s this week’s reader question for Pete Carroll.
Q: I am so impressed with the responsiveness that you have always provided for the team when facing a loss. Most recently, the phrase “It’s the bounce that counts” has been instilled in the player’s minds after the devastating loss to Oregon State. My question is, where do you start with the team when it comes to situations such as the one you’re in right now and how exactly do you attack it as coach and an individual?
A: Immediately after the game in the locker room, we started working on it. A lot of things fall into the same category and it’s all about the things you can control in a game.
We talked about only focusing on what you can control every day starting in training camp and this is one of those situations, so when it happens, hopefully, the players have heard about this for so long they already are prepared for it.
